far and away the most important holiday in china is spring festival, also known as the chinese new year. to the chinese people it is as important as christmas to people in the west. the dates for this annual celebration are determined by the lunar calendar rather than the gregorian calendar.

so the timing of the holiday varies from late january to early february. to the ordinary chinese, the festival actually begins on the eve of the lunar new years day and ends on the fifth day of the first month of the lunar calendar. but the 15th of the first month, which normally is called the lantern festival, means the official end of the spring festival in many parts of the country.

spring festival is the most importantand popular festival in re spring festival ,the people usually clean and decorate their they go to the flower fairs to buy some ng spring festival ,the adults usually give lucky money to le often get together and have a big people eat dumpling for dinner.

我生活在一个甜蜜的四口之家中，我的妈妈是一位老师，在三中工作，也就是我现在所处的校园。我的爸爸同样也是一位老师，在岱岳乡中心校工作，我的姐姐呢，是一个品学兼优的学生今年在中学读高中一年级。

我生性好动，是个开朗活泼的孩子。我酷爱体育运动，尤其是球类这一方面的。比如：足球、篮球、羽毛球、乒乓球……也由于开朗活泼的缘故，我很爱笑，一笑起来，那双小小的眼睛就眯成了一条缝。

今天，苏老师给我们带来了一种新鲜水果，叫青橄榄！同学们纷纷猜测：“它一定是又香又甜的水果。”老师神秘地笑了笑。

橄榄的皮呈黄绿色，形状是纺锤形的，像博物馆里看到的织布的梭子，长长的，两头尖。好可爱！

仔细闻一闻，像树叶的气味，真不好闻！用手捏捏，果子硬硬的。

可以吃了吧？我小心翼翼地咬了一小口，呀！好苦好苦，好涩好涩，整个口腔就像被什么东西麻住了一般，难受极了！我不禁皱起了脸，真想吐出来。但是想想：这是老师特意给我们带来的好东西，不能随便浪费了！我就强忍着，舍不得吐掉。

老师看着我们，笑了笑，说：“别着急，慢慢品尝，你一定会尝到甜头的。”有些同学很听话，勇敢地嚼起来，若无其事地吞下去，还说：“嗯，好吃！”有些同学早就吐掉了，而且哇哇乱叫：“什么味道啊？太难吃了！”我嚼着嚼着，嘴里慢慢地回甜了，而且越来越甜，越来越甜。口腔里感觉那么清爽，那么清甜，好舒服啊！看看那核，形状跟橄榄差不多，但是比橄榄细长一些，也是梭子形的，黄色的，质地像木头一样，硬邦邦的。

老师告诉我们：“橄榄的味道，先苦后甜，回味无穷。”啊，这味道太奇怪了，太美妙了！我还想吃……
